On 9 October 2017, acting in accordance with the Republic of Lithuania Law on Energy Efficiency Improvement Article 7 (1), the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania and AB Amber Grid concluded an energy savings agreement. The agreement stipulates that by 31 December 2020, through the implementation of energy efficiency improvement measures, AB Amber Grid  shall save at least 122.5 GWh of energy. The Law provides for the implementation of energy efficiency improvement measures both at the Company itself and at the Company’s end energy consumers’ sites.

On 28 February 2018, AB Amber Grid submitted to the Ministry of Energy its annual report on energy savings. The energy savings were achieved by replacing the natural gas accounting systems of the time with systems complying with the standards of smart accounting.
The estimated quantity of energy saved by 2017 has been submitted for reconciliation to the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Agency. The final energy savings result will be announced as soon as it is approved by the said authorities.
