Announcement of a non-binding market demand assessment for incremental capacity

Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems and repealing Regulation (EU) No 984/2013 (CAM NC amendment) published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 17 March 2017 applies as from the entry into force, on 6 April 2017 and introduces incremental capacity process.

Incremental capacity process foresees several phases including certain requirements that need to be fulfilled, before an incremental project can be initiated and new capacity be built.

The incremental process starts with the demand assessment phase that begins with the market demand assessment by the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) after the annual yearly capacity auction. At the beginning of this phase network users can submit non-binding demand indications within 8 weeks after the start of the annual yearly capacity auction.

Network users can also submit their non-binding demand indications after this deadline. In this case the TSO can decide, if the indication can be included in the ongoing demand assessment or if it will be used in the next assessment.

Therefore AB Amber Grid announces to current and potential users of the opportunity to submit their non-binding demand indications for incremental capacity at interconnection point with Latvia. Such information should be submitted within 8 weeks starting from 25.052017.

The Application form for incremental capacity is available here.
