The new version of network access rules was approved by national commission for energy control and prices

On 31 May 2017, the new version of AB Amber Grid Rules for Access to the Natural Gas Transmission System was approved by National Commission for Energy Control and Prices.

The main changes in the amendment of Access Rules are related to implementation of implicit capacity allocation method, which allows to allocate capacity at interconnection points more effectively and will integrate short term gas markets of Baltic states. Description of the model of implicit capacity allocation method is available here.

Also in the Access Rules it is foreseen to reserve 10% of interconnection point between Lithuania and Latvia technical capacity for booking of short term capacity products (day-ahead and within-day), also gas allocation rule at the interconnection point with Latvia is modified and the rule that gas allocation is equal to gas nomination is implemented.

The new version of Access Rules will be applied from 1 July 2017.
