AB Amber Grid: in 2017 natural gas transmission service prices will go down

In 2017, natural gas transmission service prices to Lithuania‘s system users, in comparison with the ones of 2016, will drop by on average 7.8 percent, to EUR 1.78  / MWh.

On 15 November 2016, the Board of AB Amber Grid adopted a decision on natural gas transmission service prices  effective from 1 January 2017.  The decision has been approved by the National Commission for  Energy Control and Prices  (NCC).

The drop of 2017 in the natural gas transmission service prices  will mainly come as a result  of the  increase in the current year‘s and last year‘s revenue from the short-term capacities. Another impact factor that enabled the price reduction  is  a lower-than-originally-planned cost related to the investment projects  under implementation.

In accordance with  the entry-exit points pricing model, the specific transmission service rates were set separately for the transmission system entry points  and for  the transmission system exit points.
