AB Lietuvos Dujos Board of Directors adopted prices for the natural gas transmission and distribution services and tariffs for household customers effective from 1 January 2013
The information hereunder was posted by AB Lietuvos Dujos, which carried out natural gas transmission activities before the establishment of AB Amber Grid.

The Law on Natural Gas of the Republic of Lithuania enacted that prices for natural gas transmission and distribution are fixed for one year, while tariffs for household customers are revised twice a year. In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Natural Gas, the AB Lietuvos Dujos Board of Directors, by Minutes No. 9 of 9 November 2012, adopted prices for natural gas transmission and distribution services and tariffs for natural gas for household customers effective from 1 January 2013. The prices and tariffs adopted by the decision of the Board of Directors have been submitted to the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy (hereinafter referred to as “the Commission”) for verification.

Due to decrease in the gas import price resulting from positive changes in global oil and currency markets and due to the reduction of gas supply safety costs, the variable component of the tariff for natural gas for household customers is reduced by LTL cent 12/m³ for all subgroups of customers. In consequence of resolutions adopted by national authorities, from 1 January 2013, the tariff is increasing by LTL cent 4.5/m³ in order to finance works for the construction of the liquefied natural gas terminal. With due consideration of all changes, the variable component of the tariff for natural gas for household customers is decreasing by LTL cent 8/m³ compared to the second half year of 2012.

The fixed component of the tariff stays unchanged from 1 January for all subgroups of household customers.

AB Lietuvos Dujos submitted to the Commission the request to verify the following estimations of natural gas tariffs for household customers effective from 1 January 2013:

Depending on changes in the volumes of gas transportation and other parameters, prices for natural gas distribution services for the non-household customers of 1, 2, 3, and 7 subgroups will increase up to 4.9 percent, while prices for the non-household customers of 4, 5, and 6 groups will decrease up to 7.5 percent.

The average price for natural gas transmission services:

  • Will increase by 18.6 percent for the first group of the system users (non-household customers) in consequence of material decrease in the volume of gas transported to the customers of this group;
  • Will decrease by 1.4 percent for the second group of the system users (non-household customers) as a result of increase in the volume of gas transported to the customers of this group.

In consequence of implementation of provisions of the Law on the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal of the Republic of Lithuania and the subordinate legal acts adopted by the Commission, the assets required for funding the project of the LNG terminal implemented by AB Klaipedos Nafta will be collected from customers from 1 January 2013. From 1 January 2013, all transmission system users will have to pay the LNGT mark-up fixed by the Commission in the amount of LTL 37.53/thousand m³ (VAT exclusive). AB Lietuvos Dujos will be in charge of administrating the LNGT assets. The LNGT assets (in the amount of LTL 114 million) collected by AB Lietuvos Dujos will be transferred to AB Klaipedos Nafta.

Upon adopting by the Commission, tariffs for natural gas for household customers and prices for natural gas transmission and distribution services effective from 1 January 2013 will be published on AB Lietuvos Dujos website www.dujos.lt.
