Today, the Prime Ministers of the Baltic States have signed a declaration on development of a single regional gas market. The declaration gives a green light for the merging of the national gas markets.
During the first 9 months of 2016, revenue of Lithuania’s natural gas transmission system operator, AB Amber Grid, increased by 24 percent to EUR 47 million. The Company’s nine-month net profit amounted to EUR 14.3 million.
In 2017, natural gas transmission service prices to Lithuania‘s system users, in comparison with the ones of 2016, will drop by on average 7.8 percent, to EUR 1.78 / MWh.
Following the rescheduling by Poland's Gas Transmission System Operator, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., the original date of the completion of the Gas Interconnection Poland-Lithuania (GIPL) Project for the year 2021, Lithuania's Gas Transmission System Operator, Amber Grid, on 4 October announced the termination of the previously launched tenders for the procurement of gas pipeline construction works and steel pipes.
On 29 September 2016, the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices approved the network development plan of AB Amber Grid for a ten-year period (2016–2025).
